Affordit works without accounts or sign in. The information you enter is saved in your browser until you close the tab or browser window.

What stays in your browser

Affordit keeps these values in your browser, and nothing else.

snapshot-income: The income you entered.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.
snapshot-coapplicant-income: A co-applicant's income, if you added one.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.
snapshot-province: The province or territory, if you changed it.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.
snapshot-rent: The monthly rent, if you changed it.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.
snapshot-home-price: The home price, if you changed it.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.
snapshot-down-payment: The down payment, if you changed it.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.
snapshot-rate: The mortgage rate, if you changed it.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.
snapshot-amortization: The amortization, if you changed it.; This tab only. Gone when you close it.

Cookies

Affordit itself is cookie-free. Your answer to the analytics banner lives in browser storage. Google Analytics sets two cookies once you agree, _ga and _ga_ followed by a property id. They last two years and tell Google Analytics that a visit comes from the same browser as an earlier one.

Analytics

Affordit uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It measures page views, and the ordinary information a browser sends with any request, such as approximate location, device type and the page you came from.

The analytics script loads once you press Accept. Decline, and the site runs without it, exactly the same. The information you enter stays out of what is measured.

Closing the banner leaves the question open. The site runs without analytics for the duration of the current visit, and the banner is shown again next time.

Changing your mind

Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to withdraw or give consent at any time. Clearing your browser's site data for Affordit removes everything in the list above.
